Will England once again rule the waves? Even if micro-waves? Landing colonies out beyond earth as she had centuries ago? Or are we mad scientists going to beat her to the punch? http://www.habitablezone.com/space/messages/404584.html Remember, it's them Brits that started the whole global warming thing with their coal fired steam ships. Are they now going going to microwave earth itself? (Probably not, but it sounds like a good plot for a science friction story.) --javilk@mall-net.com---------------------------------- Life is to be LIVED regardless of what is out there. Everything from the original Enterprise bridge, to dummy bottles of Chateau Piccard from Star Trek: Nemesis is on the block. Consoles, costumes, captain's chairs, tricorders, laser rifles, tricorders... large and small models, even, as I said, the original Star Trek bridge. The auction catalog is on line at: http://www.christies.com/special_sites/startrek/overview.asp What this all means for future Star Trek series, if there will be any, is a good question. Some of the original "technology" and methodology shown on the series has inspired real world developments. DARPA and NASA studied the original Star Trek bridge as a model for modern situation and control rooms. -JVV-
